  1. Remove Left Shroud

  2. Locate the Component: The launch motor reed switch is located near the launch motor and is connected to the P1 port on the power board.
  3. Remove Existing Zip Ties: Using wire cutters, carefully cut the zip ties holding the wires together. Use caution to avoid cutting any electrical wires.

  4. Disconnect the Switch: Trace the wire from the reed switch up to the power board and disconnect it from the P1 connector.

  5. Unscrew the Switch: While bracing the mounting bracket, use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the mounting bolt. Ensure you keep the flat washer and lock washer that are on the bolt.

  6. Prepare the New Switch: Ensure the hardware on your new assembly is in the correct order: bolt, then lock washer, then flat washer.

  7. Mount the New Switch: Install the new reed switch into the bottom of the two available holes near the launch motor assembly.

  8. Reconnect Wiring: Feed the wire back up to the power board and plug it into the P1 connector.

    1. Note: This is not a high-voltage part, so it can be safely connected while the machine is powered on.

  9. Secure the Wires: Thread a new zip tie through the hole on the launch motor to bundle the cables. This keeps them away from moving parts. Trim the excess plastic from the zip ties once tightened.

  10. Test the Installation: Once installed, use the steps below to test the launch motor reed switch and ensure it is functioning correctly.

    1. With no balls in the machine. In the Dr. Dish Player App or on your machine's tablet, with your machine powered on, navigate to the following Menu location, More > Support > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics > Machine Commands.
      1. Select “Launch“ a single Launch action should occur. You may have to select this twice depending on the position of the launch arm at the time. Ensure you are paying attention to the Launch Switch status as well. This should change from Off to On and then back Off.
    2. CT Model: Please note the menu location is not the same on the CT model. CT owners will need to select, from the home screen of the app, the Settings Gear > System Status > Diagnostics > Launch.
