Written Instructions

1. Prepare the Machine

  • Unplug the machine from it's power source.
  • Remove both shrouds from the machine.
  • Lower the distance rod to the bottom position.

  • Use the 5mm hex wrench to remove the four screws securing the distance plate.

  • Remove the distance plate.

  • Raise the distance rod all the way up until it is in the top position, where the distance plate was just located.

  • Place the distance plate back on, lining the top two holes on the plate up with the middle two holes on the frame. Secure the distance plate with the 5mm hex wrench and two screws. This will hold the distance arm securely.

2. Release Spring Tension

  • Use the 5mm hex wrench to remove the top bumper from the Launch Chamber. Hold the bumper with your hand as you loosen the screw to prevent it from falling.

  • Push the launch arm inward and lift the grab arm.

  • Slowly release the launch arm. This will transfer the spring tension to the bumpers.

  • Use the 10mm socket with an extension to remove the two lower bumpers. The spring tension will hold them in place.

  • Push the launch arm inward to allow the bumpers to be removed.

3. Replace the Spring

*If your machine has  a duplex spring, which has loose hooks on either end of the spring, you will be able to remove the spring from the grommets without removing the pins. If your machine has  a monoplex spring with fixed ends that are not hooks, you will need to remove the pins to get the spring off.
  • With the spring tension relieved, use the 5mm hex wrench and the 13mm wrench to remove the front pin.

  • Note the order of the washers and grommets as you remove the pin from the spring.

  • Remove the rear pin, using the same tools. Note the order of the washers and grommets on this pin as well.

  • Install the new spring in reverse order. Attach the spring to the rear grommet and then use the 5mm hex wrench and 13mm wrench to secure the rear pin.

  • Attach the spring to the front grommet and use the 5mm hex wrench and 13mm wrench to secure the front pin.

4. Reassemble the Machine

  • Re-install the lower two bumpers and tighten them with the 10mm socket and extension.

  • Push the launch arm inward and re-hook the grab arm to the launch arm. This will give you the space to re-install the top bumper.
  • Re-install the top bumper with the 5mm hex wrench.

  • Remove the distance plate.

  • Lower the distance rod to the desired position.

  • Re-install the distance plate using all four screws, ensuring the semi circle is on the bottom side of the plate.
